On the afternoon of August 26, "Full Integration with Guangdong's Four Major International Communication Platforms and 'Shantou Time' Showcase" was held in Shantou, marking a key step for the city in strengthening international communication throughmultiple media platforms.

Shantou City, a renowned hometown of overseas Chinese, attracts significant attention from its overseas audience regarding its updates. Integrating withthe fourmajor international communication platforms at the provincial level,that is,INFO Guangdong, Live Guangdong, GOGuangdong, IP Guangdong,

Shantou established an integrated media international communication matrix, which includes INFO Shantou (information services), LIVE Shantou (live-streaming), GO Shantou (tour services) and IP Shantou (image resources).

GO Shantou

"GO Guangdong" serves as a platform for international visitors, on which Shantou's landmarks—The Former Residence of Chen Cihong (陈慈黉故居) and Shantou Qiaopi Museum (侨批文物馆) —have been included in the province's recommended attractions. Shantou will develop a series of "GO Shantou" routes, featuring Chaoshan region's intangible cultural heritage, overseas Chinese culture, local industries, and ecological attractions. Shantou welcomes global friendsto visit and experience the charming city.

IP Shantou

IP Guangdong is a public platform for people to create and promote Guangdong’s cultural identity. While the first 30 "city content creators" from Shantou have already joined, IP Shantou will strive to introduce 100 more accounts to the platform by the end of this year, spreading more cultural and natural charm of the city. Global photographers and graphic enthusiasts are welcome to participate actively in the content creation to share their perspectives on Shantou City.

INFO Shantou

Supported by "Chaoshan Digital Virtual Homeland", Shantou has established "INFO Shantou", setting up Shantou University and Overseas Chinese Pilot Zone as the international community information service hubs. The platform provides targeted information services, one-stop information guidance, and "one-click convenient services" for expats residing in or visiting Shantou, as well as offers theoverseas audience a digitalized and diversified window to know about Guangdong, explore Shantou and experience Chaoshan culture.

At the event, 3 international students from the School of International Education at Shantou University were appointed as Shantou's "Global Promotion Ambassadors." Together, they extended a heartfelt invitation to the world: "Shantou welcomes you."

LIVE Shantou

Shantou has recently added the East Coast and Nan'ao Bridge on top of the Small Park area, with a total of 3 spots connected to the "LIVE Guangdong" slow live-streaming platform, broadcasting Shantou's urban landscape in real time. Accordingly, more spots will be expanded for bringing out the vivid and varied dimensions of the city.

With the establishment of Shantou's international communication matrix, "GO Shantou: Vibrant 15th National Games" Media tour will begin next week. The event will explore key spots and highlights of the 15th National Games, showcasing the dynamic spirit of the special economic zone and the charm of the overseas Chinese hometown.
