The Guangzhou Baishuizhai Geological Museum, also known as the Volcano Theme Hall of the Jinshan Geological Museum, sits within Baishuizhai Scenic Area in Paitan Town, Zengcheng District. It is currently the only professional science museum in Guangzhou dedicated to volcanic geology. 

The museum features more than 500 geological specimens, including volcanic rocks, fossils and minerals. Interactive displays and immersive volcanic simulations help visitors learn about volcanic activity, changes in rock strata and landscape evolution.

Baishuizhai boasts rich geological heritage. The area preserves the remains of a Jurassic volcanic neck dating back about 180 million years and Baishuixian Waterfall, which has the largest drop among waterfalls on the Chinese mainland at 428.5 meters. It also features continuous geological strata dating from the Proterozoic to the Cenozoic eras.

The museum combines indoor exhibitions with the surrounding natural landscape, allowing visitors to learn more about the geological formation and evolution of Baishuizhai. It also offers new options for geological education and study tours at the scenic area.
