"The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is an innovative bridge connecting three cities, providing visitors with more opportunities to enjoy Zhuhai and explore business opportunities," said Kaelyn Dekarube, Permanent Secretary for Media at Nauru's Department of Media, during a visit to the Blue Dolphin Island on the HZMB.

Earlier in September, journalists from the Asia-Pacific region embarked on a visit to Guangdong for the Asia-Pacific Media Forum (APMF).

John Wallace, director of the Asia Pacific Journalism Centre (APJC) in Australia, gained insights into the way the HZMB promotes regional integration and significantly boost regional economy.

Dylan Walker, a foreign reporter with China Daily Youth Channel, noted that the bridge has helped protect the habitat of Chinese white dolphins alongside bridge construction, showing that major infrastructure projects and wildlife conservation can go hand in hand.

Opened on October 23, 2018, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a 55-kilometer mega-project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) that reduces the road journey from three hours to around 45 minutes. It is the world's longest sea-crossing bridge, featuring the longest immersed road tunnel and the longest steel bridge section.

As of the end of 2025, the bridge had served over 107 million passenger trips and more than 14.62 million vehicle crossings, which has facilitated the flow of people and resources. The bridge also serves as a vital trade corridor, with total import and export values exceeding 300 billion RMB (about 43.74 billion USD) in 2025 and about three million cross-border e-commerce parcels handled daily as of July, 2026.
