Foshan is a historic city renowned as the "Capital of Ceramics." With exquisite craftsmanship in ceramic art, it has seen the development of the ceramic industry since the Tang (618–907 AD) and Song (960–1279 AD) dynasties. Today, Foshan has grown into one of the world's largest hubs for ceramic production and trade. It boasts key facilities including the China Ceramics City, Huaxia Ceramic Exposition City, and China Ceramics Industry Headquarters.

Foshan's ceramic market has established a comprehensive industrial ecosystem that integrates production bases, exhibition and sales platforms, and logistics hubs. Its product range covers architectural ceramics, sanitary ware, and decorative ceramics, including high-end categories such as smart bathroom fixtures and low-carbon sintered stone. By the end of 2024, the city had fostered 136 national high-tech ceramic enterprises, established 51 R&D centers at or above the provincial level, and accumulated over 30,000 authorized patents.

Foshan has maintained a leading position in China's ceramic exports. Leveraging its comprehensive advantages in quality, design and service, its ceramic products are sold to more than 160 countries and regions worldwide. By October 2024, the total export volume had exceeded 10 million tons.

China (Foshan) International Ceramic & Bathroom Fair (Cerambath)

The China (Foshan) International Ceramic & Bathroom Fair (Cerambath) serves as a key gateway for Foshan's and even China's ceramic and bathroom products to enter the global market. The 43rd Cerambath kicked off in Chancheng District, Foshan in October 18. This session brought together over 800 domestic and international brands, featuring the first-ever cross-border e-commerce zone and China-South Korea Exchange Conference to promote an "online display + offline matchmaking" trade model. It also hosted the 5th "Russian Ceramic & Bathroom Trade Mission" to facilitate cooperation and exchanges between Foshan's ceramic enterprises and Russian buyers.

Since its inauguration in 2002, the fair successfully served over 1.3 million global buyers from more than 139 countries and regions, and integrated 2,000 brands into the international supply chain. It has facilitated a total trade volume of over 310 billion yuan. The 41st China (Foshan) Cerambath in 2024 achieved an intended transaction volume of 210 million yuan, representing a growth of over 10 percent compared to the previous two sessions. This counter-trend growth highlights Foshan’s core value as a global procurement hub.

It specializes in ceramic wall and floor tiles, sanitary ware, hardware fittings, whole-house customization, and imported tiles. To date, it has served over 150 countries and regions and received more than 10 million global buyers.
