Former Site of Dongjiang Column Command in Tuyang Village, Shenzhen City

Located in the village of Tuyang, adjacent to Dapeng Bay, the Former Site of Dongjiang Column Command is embraced by mountains and gazes out upon the azure sea. Dapeng Bay, historically a contested area, served as the backdrop for the inaugural headquarters of the Dongjiang Column of the Guangdong People's counter-japanese guerrilla army once it was officially established. Today, the site is accompanied by lush, age-old trees and flourishing foliage.

全面抗战开始后，中共中央高度重视广东地区的抗日斗争。1938年10月，日军侵占东江下游各县及广州后，中共中央即电示广东省委和八路军驻香港办事处在东江敌占区开拓游击区。

1938年10月11日，由40多名土洋村民组成的“坝岗自卫队”埋伏在海岸线处，伺机袭击一支日军，由此打响了抵抗日军登陆大亚湾的第一枪。

大鹏湾是深水海湾，历来是兵家必争之地。坐落在大鹏湾旁的土洋村，背靠群山，面临碧海，左侧是大鹏半岛，右侧是九龙半岛。广东人民抗日游击队东江纵队正式成立后的第一个司令部，就位于深圳土洋村。在这里，曾生等人遵照党中央指示，发布《东江纵队成立宣言》，公开宣布东江纵队成立。

1944年8月，为广东人民抗日武装的全面发展指明方向的土洋会议在这里召开。根据土洋会议的决定，东江纵队担负起了东进、西进和北上的战略任务。
