Covering Qi'ao Island, Dangan Island, and Erzhou Island, the Guangdong Zhuhai Qi'ao-Dangan Island Provincial Nature Reserve spans approximately 73.74 square kilometers. Boasting a diverse landscape of forest, marine, and wetland ecosystems, the reserve serve as a vital sanctuary for local mangrove wetlands, as well as migratory and resident birds within the island ecosystems.

Home to abundant native mangrove species, the reserve is a key stopover along China's three major migratory bird routes. It also functions as a premier venue for wetland science education and sustainable ecotourism.

Rich in biodiversity, the territory nurtures a wide variety of marine organisms, butterflies and insect species. During their visit, tourists can gain in-depth knowledge about the unique adaptive mechanisms of mangroves, including viviparous reproduction, specialized aerial root systems and efficient salt excretion capabilities.

Individual visitors: Book at least one day in advance through the WeChat official account "Guangdong Zhuhai Qi'ao-Dangan Island Provincial Nature Reserve（珠海淇澳担杆岛省级自然保护区）"

Groups: Nature education and research groups should book at least three working days in advance through the same WeChat account and email their plans to qadgbhq@zhuhai.gov.cn.

Opening hours: 

Non-migratory bird season (from April 1 to October 7): 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Wednesday to Sunday, closed at 6 p.m.

Migratory bird season (from October 8 to March 31): 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Friday to Sunday, closed at 6 p.m.
